“Yoga is not a religion. It is a science, science of well-being, science of youthfulness, science of integrating body, mind and soul.”

Yoga is considered to be an important part of education and Mother Theresa Memorial School having recognized its importance and benefits, has  included it in our curriculum since 2003.

  1. Promotes Physical Health: Yoga asanas or poses help in increasing flexibility, strength, and balance. Practicing yoga regularly can improve overall physical health and well-being.

  2. Reduces Stress and Anxiety: Yoga includes various breathing techniques, meditation, and relaxation techniques which can help students manage stress and anxiety. This can improve their mental health and well-being.

  3. Improves Concentration: Practicing yoga can improve focus, attention, and concentration. This can be beneficial for students as it can enhance their academic performance.

  4. Enhances Emotional Wellness: Yoga teaches students to regulate their emotions and improve their emotional wellness. This can lead to better relationships and improved social skills.

  5. Develops Mindfulness: Yoga encourages students to be present in the moment and pay attention to their thoughts, feelings, and sensations. This can help them develop mindfulness, which is a valuable life skill.

  6. Fosters Spiritual Growth: Yoga is not just a physical practice, but also a spiritual one. Practicing yoga can help students connect with their inner selves, develop a sense of purpose, and foster spiritual growth.
